Starting my own photography business has been a dream of mine since high school. However, I always had an excuse to not do it, until now. Something about putting yourself out there for the entire world to see is daunting nonetheless. However, I heard a quote that clicked it into place for me (funny how that happens). “The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.” –Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

I am a native Colorado girl.  I grew up in Evergreen. I’ve lived all over the United States and always find myself coming home. I spent two years out east at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. I came home and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder. I lived in Chicago for eight years where I met my husband Michael. We moved back to Denver, where we had two girls Payton and Dylan. We spent three years in west LA for Michael’s work and are now back in Denver with no plans to move ever again. There’s a reason this place keeps pulling us back.

Photography has had the same calling Colorado has. I have always been the friend with the camera in hand. I look through all of my photos and love the story they tell. There is so much that a photograph can capture that memories can’t. I love that unexpected look you can catch in a moment. After each shoot, I love that sense of nervousness I feel when I first move everything into the computer. Did I get it? Then that sense of elation when I roll over that photo and say that’s the one. That’s the one they are going to frame in their home, send to their family, or put on a card. That’s the photo they are going to cherish in the years to come.
